Butter Murukku also known as Benne Chakli is a snack recipe famous in the Southern part of India. This crunchy snack recipe is easy to prepare at home as it involves ingredients that are simply available at home. Do give it a try and share your feedback in the comments below.

Ingredients:
2 cups Rice flour
2 tbsp Chana dal, roasted and powdered
1/4 cup Besan (Gram Flour)
2.5 tbsp Salted butter
1 tsp Cumin seeds
1/2 tsp Asafoetida powder
1 tsp Salt
1 tbsp Sesame seeds
Water as required
Oil for frying

Method of preparation:
In a bowl containing rice flour add gram flour, chana dal powder, butter, mix them with the help of your finger and convert it into a bread-like structure.
Add salt, asafoetida, cumin seeds, sesame seeds, mix well.
Add water and knead it into a dough.
Heat oil in a vessel, divide the dough into 2 portions and transfer it to a murukku mold.
Apply some water to the sides of the mold, close the mold and start rolling the pin.
Press the murukkus straight into the oil and fry them till they are crisp and golden brown.
